This is a wall-mounted cat tree that wraps around the outside corner of a wall.
We made a couple of preset heights for the pole segments between shelves:
45cm/17.7'', 50cm/19.7'', 55cm/21.7'', and 60cm/23.6''
This cat tree is ultra sturdy and great for cats of all sizes. The smaller lengths between shelves are great for older, less abled, and smaller breeds of cats. The biggest pole length is great for jumpers and giant cat breeds.
The basic setup combines flat shelves in a zig zag pattern creating a climbing frame behind the scratching pole.
The segments could also be attached to one another to create higher uninterrupted climbs and/or to avoid a certain element on the wall.
As this is a made to order item, everything can be customized. The shelves could be smaller or bigger, and the length of the pole segments could be made to your specification.
PLACEMENT
Usually, we find spaces with usable outer corners in open space designs, on the areas between the hallway and living room or kitchen. Which is ideal for cats as they love being near us and keeping everything in check. The right placement of your cats' furniture can help enrich their lives, offer safe spaces, and help with anxiety, which is a common problem in cats nowadays. They just want to be close to us and to have us under their watchful eyes.
Placing the wall cat tree on the lower level can be great, as cats love to scratch on the corner of things(better they scratch up the intended scratching pole than our furniture). The lower position gives them a space where they can show their excitement by scratching on the pole with their front paws but keeping their back ones on the ground. We usually see them arching their backs and stretching. Some like to leap themselves onto the pole and scratch hard to get our attention.
The attached shelves offer a great climbing experience and are a great area for playing, as they can play catch and hide and seek at the same time. They will jump up and down, climb, and monkey around.
You could have this cat tree all the way up to the ceiling and have it as a connection piece for a large wall setup. The corner tree offers lots of fun elements.
This is an ultra sturdy setup as everything locks in place with one another and every shelf is attached to the wall. When mounted properly it can take more pounding than a pack of large cats jumping on and off could make.
The wood is smoothed to perfection, has rounded corners, and the section of the shelves where they are connected to the scratching pole is rounded up to match up with the curvature of the pole and to offer an uninterrupted climb up.
SCRATCHING POLES
The poles are wrapped with 12mm thick sisal rope which is extremely durable. The pole can be rewrapped when needed or a new segment ordered as a replacement, but we doubt you'll ever need it if you don't have a large clowder of cats.
You can order a small setup with just 2 poles and 3 shelves and see how your cats like it. If it's a hit you can easily attach more pieces to it. The tree could grow with your growing cat family. Let's face it, you need a few more cats(not us though😬)
