Wobbly Tunnel XL

Large wall cat shelf primarily made for cats with disabilities. It's a long and wide cat tunnel great for cats of all sizes.

Having a cat with seizures, epilepsy, tremors, Feline cerebellar Hypoplasia/Wobbly Cat Syndrome, brain tumors, or anything that can impair their walking, everyday functions, and sensory issues can be a real challenge.

The tunnel is made to order, so everything can be made to accommodate the needs of your cat.

We've designed it to offer safety and comfort. Unlike our standard cat tunnels, this one has all 4 structure elements of the same size, which makes it a more directional item. There are no front large openings, just a tube that keeps a cat protected. The standard layout has openings on the sides and one on the top. We've made it that way so that it could be used by multiple cats at once, but the top entry can be closed off, to prevent a wobbly cat from getting up there.

We advise setting the elements on lower levels of the wall, along with ramps or other cat shelves. The tunnel could have fewer windows or more, the standard is with 6 small windows set in an aesthetically pleasing way. The design doesn't have to be boring. The tunnel is fully carpeted for extra grip and traction, which is crucial for a good balance for a wobbly cat. The closed-off sides will keep your cat safe during a seizure, even a violent epileptic one. If your cat has a seizure, it will feel safe inside the tunnel and probably seek some time to decompress from an episode. There's a large cushion inside for comfort and it's made from high-density cold pressed foam that will alleviate all the pressure from joints and bones.

This is an extra large and wide shelf, meaning the cat will have enough space to fall and pick itself up without getting stuck.

Just like the L tunnel version, the tunnel could be placed in a corner of a room, enclosing one entrance and making it a safe space to seek comfort during events that usually trigger episodes. The layout could be mirrored, to have the inside cushion placed at the end of the tunnel, at the corner. Just let us know which option suits you.  Just note that this is a long element and you'll need to be able to reach your cat sometimes, the top opening could help and you can pull the cat out if you have enough space behind you.

Your cat may pee, poop, vomit or salivate during a seizure. Our furniture is made for those types of issues along with the carpet and fabric options we have in our shop. We can make it all with outdoor paint we use for our Catio furniture, to make it even more resistant to pee stains and smells. All of our furniture can be regularly cleaned and disinfected, the pillows could have one of our waterproof fabric options as a cover and they can be regularly washed. Also, they come attached with hook and loop fasteners which means they won't fall down in any situation. The carpet is not absorbent, you can clean it with a sponge or a damp cloth. It also has a thick rubber underpadding which will help with grip and soften the occasional fall.

The tunnel can be used for healthy cats and kittens, it was just one of our takes on the wobbly cat situation.

It's also great for three-legged cats that have issues with moving around.

Due to its size and width, a paralyzed kitty or a paraplegic could move freely in it, having enough support from the tunnel's walls and having that thick carpet to cling to.

he tunnel could be customized to be enclosed on one side, either by having it fully enclosed(we could even make that "wall" to be able for you to take it out when you need to get the cat out or clean, or it could be half enclosed, looking more like a balcony on that side. Options are endless and we love solving challenges.
