The structure is sturdy and can easily carry 20kg/44lbs. That has more to do with how it's mounted. When mounting onto a mesh, be careful to use this option only if the mesh is hard-welded, thick, and doesn't move.
Since the bed's structure is enclosed but made to be outdoor, the corners on the bottom plate are purposely cut to help remove moisture or any trapped water under the cushion.
We would advise removing the cushions if they get soaked and letting them all air dry away from the wooden part. The fabric of the cushion is made for outdoors, but the trapped moisture in a humid climate is always a nuisance.
The shelf is protected by multiple coats of outdoor grade paints, and is made out of high quality WBP Baltic birch plywood, but ideally it should be placed under a roof to last longer.
