The Cozy Apartment Bundle is a set of wall-mounted cat furniture. The bundle contains a 1,8m high scratching post, 4 sets of cat steps, a BigCat Tunnel Mini, and a big hammock. It's ideal for homes with 1-3 cats. This bundle could be spaced out differently, but the original idea was to keep it in a contained area of 2x2m of wall while having all the necessities for a happy cat home. This setup is ideal for small apartments where the space is very limited.
The size of the shelves is good for mid to large cats.
The hammock is large enough to fit one fully sprawled larger cat or a pair of snuggled cats.
The wall cat tunnel has 2 large cushions for sleeping and perching. The tunnel is sleek, has an opening at the top and is accessible from 3 sides. We positioned the cat stairs on the left and right of the tunnel, providing escape routes on both sides.
There is a third, more fun option of getting up there(and down, but that needs some monkeying around and practice), and that’s the long scratching post. The cat pole will be the favorite piece for your cats, as it will give them freedom to move, play and jump. The uninterrupted climb will provide cats with exercise and let them release stress and excitement on something that isn't your favorite chair or sofa. The scratching tower is wrapped with 12mm thick natural sisal rope which lets cats sink their claws in fully and shred as hard and as vigorously as they want. We advise installing it about 30cm off the floor, as installing it lower doesn't do anything for cats. They start clawing at the height where they can stretch their front paws while arching their backs. It will also be easier for cleaning and maintenance. Having nothing on the floor makes it so much easier to vacuum and clean, as there is nowhere for dirt, hair and dead nails to fall and hide under.
The cat steps have carpet on, as we predicted this might be used for large cats that are mostly longhaired and clumsier by design. Part of the problem are large bodies, but mostly it's due to the foolish nature combined with long hairs on paws that provide less traction. Ragdolls, Maine Coons and Turkish Vans are the first that come to mind. The carpeted option is also best for cats with short tails, either by accident or by nature, such as American Bobtail, Manx or Pixiebob. Also, if in doubt always go with the safer carpeted version. The carpet is easy to maintain and can be replaced.
If you can, position it in an area that's nearest to you. The proximity to you gives them safety and also providing them with safe spaces, especially if you're in a home with kids or dogs, gives them the much needed confidence boost. Most cats prefer to be up high, having an observation point on everything that's going on around them. This is something deeply rooted in their DNA code as prey animals.
Putting it somewhere near a window will give an extra layer of cat enrichment, as they could be watching the birds and other animals outside.
This bundle could be placed beside and partly over your sofa. That's the space that's commonly most used by people but has an overhead that is ideal for a cat safe space. The options are endless, as everything could be custom-made to fit your home.
