Most of the floating round sisal steps are tiny, certainly not big enough for two cats to maneuver on or pass by one another. We wanted a round step that is massive, has the depth and width that could support two cats, or be big enough for a large cat to lay on. It needed to be big enough for a cat to fully embrace it.
These steps offer a safe playground for cats, as they can sink their claws into the sisal rope and sit firmly on them, without the danger of falling down. There is a big plug at the end of the step, which acts as a stopper or a rail of sorts.
The round step mimics a big branch your feline friend would naturally climb in nature. It fulfills the need for clawing and helps them shed their old nails while offering a place to hang, sleep and play.
The Round Step Chonk can hold a human, let alone a cat or two. It is heavily reinforced with a wide and solid mounting plate.
The step is covered with a durable 12mm thick sisal rope, which the cats adore as they can fully sink their claws into it. The trunk has a diameter of 19cm/7.5'' and is 40cm long (all the other options on the market are up to 10cm in diameter and 27cm in length)
On a personal note, we've made these steps with a special kind of cat in mind.
Our Vigo is a horizontal scratcher and loves tearing our linens, furniture, and rugs, and he's also a substantially big cat and needs space to get by.
He's not the brightest, nor the bravest cat. He scares easily, he falls, he freaks himself out in the process, and makes a big mess. He's a goofball, a typical black void. He needs space to move around and needs traction, as he's extra clumsy with longer hairs on his paws. He's the panicky type who hates noise, has a heart attack when he hears fireworks, and has a fit every time he knocks something off the table(which is fairly often, he has the need to be in our faces when we're trying to work from home and is relentless in jumping on our work desks). The Round Step Chonk solved these issues for us.
This is the best round step for large and giant breeds of cats, like Savannah cats, Maine Coon's, Ragdoll, etc.
It comes in a variety of colors and is covered in Sisal Rope which is durable and ideal for scratching.
The shelf will be attached to the wall using screws through the back mounting plate and the Screws and plugs are included in the box and ready to install.
