This outdoor-ready edition of our WideBridge is the perfect addition to your cats' catio playground. The wide slats are carpeted for extra grip, which is extra important as cats hate slippery surfaces. Both carpet options are mold-resistant, don't absorb moisture, and are also resistant to sunlight.
The spacing between the slats is small to avoid any injuries or slips, where a cat's foot might get caught or tangled. The spacing between the bars is something we've calculated and was heavily tested.
They're simple suspension bridges, with two hard-bearing PP ropes carrying the bars and following a hyperbolic curve, the CATenary. The curve is stiffened and made more stable by 2 screws in each bar, ensuring that the bars stay in place. This stiffness allows the bridges to be more stable and to carry much more weight while reducing the twisting motion.
When combined with other wall and ceiling-mounted products they're great stimulators for exercise and play, enlarging the cats' living space while giving them the ability to explore new heights.
Cats love bridges, they love the little sway that our bridges give as it's not a scary obstacle. Most cats will prefer laying in the middle of the bridge than on the sturdy mounts as they love the curve that just slightly hugs their body. Cats love bridges for the same reasons they love hammocks, it gives them a feeling of dancing on tree branches.
Both carpet options are thick, which will give them something to hold on to, something to punch their claws through, and something soft to lay on.
