Cat bundle for those of you working remotely. Living in a tiny flat or having a small room with an office that you share with your cats isn't always agreeable with your remote job. Working from home has its challenges, so we're trying to overcome them by optimizing the small spaces as much as we can, as not everyone has the luxury of space. Every inch counts. We've put our new cat scratching post in the mix, and put it on a higher level, because let's face it, cats walk over our desks anyway.
We put two smaller cat tunnels up there because they look good together, and because cats have enough space between themselves that way. The cat tunnels are mirrored for a more fun and enjoyable view. As you're losing a part of the wall that might hold some artwork or memorabilia, it was important for a space to feel playful, thought of, and cozy.
We could have opted for one large cat tunnel, but we wanted to accommodate 2 to 4 cats comfortably. Give them more space and options.
The bottom tunnel has a large wide carpeted bridge with a cat step shelf at the end. The setup is made to keep cats further from your PC monitor, preventing them from stepping onto it or messing up your video call. There are 5 steps to the right, to make it easy for cats to get up. If your cats don't like smooth surfaces or need a better grip, opt for a version with carpeted stairs.
The scratching post is 14cm thick and wrapped with 12mm high-quality sisal rope. It has basses that can be attached to any level surface. We attached it to the desk and onto the lower Wally Tunnel Mini. The desk height might be a challenge to some, which is good, as it prevents them from playing roughly and knocking down your stuff. Some cats will slowly jump to it with ease, but due to its height from the ground, most will be careful.
This is a neat solution for giving cats exactly what they want while keeping your floor space clean and removing the cats to higher positions. They will cherish the warmth coming from your PC and the proximity to you. Your feline friends should easily adapt to your work schedule if you train and redirect them to their furniture.
As cats need to be at the center of everything, being above you, and seemingly in a position where they feel always watched, will help deepen your bond and instill more confidence into some.
They will have plenty of vertical space, have places for perching and lounging, and each will find their perfect spot for napping. The more timid ones or the ones with tree-dwelling personalities will tend to go to the higher tunnel. The chonkiest one will probably go for the bridge and use it as a hammock, just gently swaying while switching positions.
